STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters are working to control a wildfire growing near Kettle Falls on Monday night, according to Washington Department of Natural Resources.
The Katy Creek Fire burning about six miles northwest of Kettle Falls sparked on August 29 after a lightning strike.
As of Monday afternoon, the fire is estimated at roughly 338-acres, or half a square mile, up from 200-acres on Sunday.
The fire is 0% contained.
No evacuations are currently in place.
The Katy Creek Fire is one of several burning in Stevens County on Monday night, including the over 3,000-acre Crown Creek Fire burning near Northport.
