SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane man was arrested Friday afternoon after threatening a business employee with an alleged gun during a robbery.
According to the Spokane Police Department, at approximately 1:54 p.m., a 911 caller reported a man stealing items from My Fresh Basket located near the intersection of on W. Summit Parkway and N. Monroe Street. When confronted by an employee, the suspect claimed he had a gun, though no weapon was visible.
Officers used the caller’s description to locate Allen at Cedar and Broadway just eight minutes after the emergency call. He was taken into custody without incident, and no firearm was recovered.
Jerry G. Allen Jr., 38, was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery and third-degree theft.
Police interviewed additional witnesses before making the arrest. All stolen items were recovered.
Allen remains in custody at Spokane County Jail.
