SPOKANE, Wash. — A large fire broke out at a warehouse just east of downtown Spokane on Wednesday night.
Around 8 p.m. on August 20, Spokane Fire Department responded to a warehouse on fire near N. Madelia Street and E. Riverside Avenue.
When crews arrived, they found the building fully engulfed with smoke coming out of every window and opening.
Firefighters battled the flames defensively, meaning no fire crews entered the building.
SFD said crews were heavily focused on controlling the fire burning on the north side of the warehouse where multiple fuel tanks were stored.
Fire crews also patrolled the surrounding areas for any potential fires ignited by embers.
According to SFD, no injuries were reported.
SFD confirmed with the Fire Marshal the building was Tormino’s Glass.
SFD said the fire is under control and that firefighters will be on site through the night to put out any hot spots and monitor the fire as it burns out.
People nearby should avoid the area and try to stay out of the smoke.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
