Do you and your family know what to do if a fire breaks out in your home?
Spokane County Fire District 10 is reminding everyone about the importance of having a home fire escape plan.
“In the event of a fire, every second counts,” said SCFD10 in a Facebook post.
The department says it’s important for you and your family to map out at least two ways out of every room in case of a fire emergency.
You should also designate a safe meeting spot outside.
“Practice your escape plan regularly, both during the day and at night, so everyone knows what to do under pressure,” SCFD10 said.
You should also regularly test smoke alarms and make sure everyone in the home knows how to respond when they go off.
“A well-practiced plan can save lives – be prepared before an emergency happens.”
