SPOKANE, Wash. — Law enforcement agencies across the region are sharing condolences after a Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant was killed in the line of duty Saturday morning.
From Grant County to Kootenai County, law enforcement is sending support and honoring the fallen Sergeant.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and the family of the fallen Sergeant,” the Cheney Police Department said. “This tragic accident affects many in our community, including our own officers who responded to the scene. Please have patience with the heavy flow of traffic driving through Cheney throughout the day as the freeway remains blocked due to the incident.”
“On behalf of all the residents of Kootenai County, accept our deepest condolences in the tragic loss of your Sergeant who died in the line of duty today,” Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris said.
“The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is standing to assist the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office,” The Grant County Sheriff’s Office posted. “We send thoughts of strength, support, and peace to our colleagues and the deputy’s loved ones.”
“Our hearts are with the friends and family of the Sergeant and all of our colleagues at the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office,” said the Spokane Valley Fire Department.
“On behalf of the Liberty Lake Police Department and the City of Liberty Lake, our condolences go out to the family of the fallen deputy and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office,” said Liberty Lake Police Chief D. Simmons.
