MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A Moses Lake man was arrested for leading police on a chase while suspected of being under the influence Wednesday night.
According to the Moses Lake Police Department, officers saw 41-year-old Matthew Garza recklessly driving on Airway Drive near Valley Road around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Garza didn’t stop when officers tried to pull him over. Moses Lake Police and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office then began pursuing Garza’s vehicle.
Police say Garza evaded attempts to try and end the pursuit.
Officers stopped chasing Garza at one point due to safety concerns, but Garza turned around and drove back at the officers.
After over an hour, Garza eventually crashed his vehicle on Valley Road near Ottmar Road. No injuries or damages were reported from the crash.
Garza was arrested on suspicion of DUI, reckless driving and eluding.
