MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The Association of Washington School Principals and the Association of Washington Student Leaders honored Moses Lake High School as a 2025 School on the Rise.
This distinction goes to schools that are making strides in culture, leadership and student success.
Moses Lake High School began its journey toward this distinction in 2022 when the school changed its mascot from the Chiefs to the Mavericks following a request from the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. That led to even more cultural changes at the school in the past few years.
The school district says the cultural changes have improved attendance, increased ASB involvement, created a greater sense of student belonging and more.
