SPOKANE, Wash – Golfers will hit the links in north Spokane Monday to raise money for a cause dear to the community.
The 14th Annual Gleason Classic Golf Tournament brings golfers to Kalispel Golf and Country Club to raise money to support Team Gleason.
Team Gleason is the work of Spokane native, WSU football legend and former New Orleans Saint Steve Gleason, who is battling ALS.
The organization raises money to empower people living with ALS through life-enhancing technology, equipment and support services.
Once again this year, Steve Gleason and his family are in attendance for the event.
“We are honored to celebrate another year of this incredible community tradition,” said Rian Emmerson, Northwest Director for Team Gleason. “The Spokane Gleason Classic is more than just a day of golf — it’s a chance for our community to come together, celebrate Steve’s legacy, and make a tangible impact in the lives of those living with ALS.”
The event has raised more than $5 million in the 13 previous tournaments.
Some of the funds also stay in Spokane to benefit local organizations that support those living with ALS and their families.
