STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Stevens County Emergency Management will host a community meeting Tuesday evening for residents affected by the recent Lake Spokane fire.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at Stevens County Fire District 1, Station 8, located at 5972 Highway 291 in Suncrest. Officials encourage all residents who experienced losses following the fire to attend.
“We understand that the path to recovery can be incredibly stressful and challenging,” said Adenea Sellars, Emergency Management director. “Our goal is to ensure that the community knows they are not alone during this difficult time.”
The meeting will address recovery topics including Red Cross assistance, wildfire debris removal, salvage logging options, and grass seed and replanting programs.
Representatives from the Red Cross, Stevens County Fire District 1, Stevens County Conservation District, Department of Natural Resources and USDA-NRCS will attend to speak with fire survivors.
