Forward progression has been stopped for a wildfire burning near Tonasket over the weekend, according to Okanogan County Emergency Management.
Around 9 p.m. on August 2, OCEM said the ‘Bench Creek Fire’ burning in the Aeneas Valley near Tonasket is 95% lined with many internal hotspots.
OCEM said fire crews would man the fire overnight.
On Saturday afternoon, Level 2 (GET SET) evacuations were issued for Bluebell Lane and Level 1 (BE READY) evacuations were issued for Ruby Two Moons Road.
OCEM said evacuation levels will be reassessed Sunday morning, but no updates have been issued.
