OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — Update 6 p.m., August 4: Forward progress for the Brooks Tract Fire has been stopped, according to Colville Confederated Tribe.
DNR and district crews will be assisting with overnight staffing, along with an incoming wildland strike team.

Update 9 p.m., August 3: Evacuations have been reduced for the wildfire burning near Omak.
According to the Colville Tribe, all Level 3 evacuations have been reduced to Level 1, meaning people should just be mindful of the fire.
The Red Cross says four homes have been destroyed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Evacuations have been issued for a wildfire burning near Omak on Sunday afternoon, according to Okanogan County Emergency Management.
Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations are in place for the wildfire burning along State Route 155, near milepost 78 and 89 Omak Riverside Eastside Road in Omak.
According to the Red Cross, four homes have been destroyed in the wildfire, as of Sunday evening.
As of 5 p.m. on August 3, Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations are in place for the following areas:
– SR-155 from milepost 76 to milepost 78
– Moomaw Road, Sinkueep Road, Omak Mountain Road
– River Overlook Street, Kruse Street, Omak River Road (Sand Flat Area)
OCEM said the fire, also known as the ‘Brooks Tract Fire,’ has jumped the Okanogan River.
SR-155 is closed from milepost 75 to milepost 78 and Omak Riverside Eastside Road is closed from SR-155 to S Curves.
A Red Cross Shelter has been set up for evacuees at the Omak Middle School in Stevens Gym (14 S. Cedar Street, Omak).
Red Cross says evacuees should bring with them, if possible, any medication and prescriptions, extra clothing, pillows blankets, hygiene supplies and important documents.
