Firefighters are planning burnout operations along parts of a 32-acre wildfire near Arden, weather permitting.
According to incident management, the Castle Rock Fire was caused by lightning on Castle Rock Mountain on Thursday.
The fire is burning in thick vegetation and rugged terrain.
Crews reported little fire activity overnight and crews were allowed to create a handline around most of the fire.
Firefighters are working Saturday to secure the fire line and remove snags in order to keep fire crews safe.
If the weather permits, crews could conduct burn-out operations along the northeast edge of the fire. If this happens, smoke will be highly visible to the communities of Arden, Orin and Colville as well as along Highway 395 and Highway 20.
There are currently no evacuations or road closures in place due to this fire.
