ANACONDA, Mont. — Law enforcement is responding to an active shooter situation in Anaconda, Montana.
According to the Anaconda-Deer Lodge Police Department, the suspect has been identified as Michael Brown, 45, of Anaconda.
The Montana Highway Patrol confirmed to ABC News that four people have been killed. Authorities said they expect to release more information soon, but the circumstances leading up to the shooting at a local bar remain unclear.
Police are urging the public to avoid the Stumptown area and nearby neighborhoods.
Brown remains at large and was last seen driving a 2007 white Ford F-150 pickup with Montana license plates DTY493, according to ABC’s local affiliate.
He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Authorities say Brown is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.
Anyone who sees Brown or his vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately.
