COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department is planning construction work that will affect drivers in Kootenai County next month.
Drivers should expect various nighttime lane closures, detours and shifting traffic patterns throughout August.
Beginning on August 4, there will be a lane shift on State Highway 53 near Greensferry Road to remove existing striping and prepare for new lines.
The on-ramp to westbound Interstate 90 from Beck Road will be closed on August 6 for resurfacing. One lane will also be closed on I-90 near the state line.
Resurfacing work will close lanes at Beck Road and Point Parkway on August 7.
During the week of August 11, crack sealing on the Post Falls Business Loop will take place. This consists of Seltice Way from Bay Street to Spokane Street.
A full overnight closure will take place at the intersection of Spokane Street and Seltice Way on August 14 for resurfacing work. Detours will be in place.
On August 19, both southbound lanes will be closed on Highway 95 near Appleway Avenue. Both northbound lanes will be closed in the same area on August 21.
During the week of August 25, crack sealing will happen throughout the US-95 corridor through Coeur d’Alene.
Work on all these projects will take place overnight, typically between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, drive carefully in work zones, and use Idaho 511 to stay up-to-date on traffic impacts and detours.
