SPOKANE, Wash. — After months of cleanup from two devastating floods, a downtown Spokane oddities store is celebrating its grand re-opening this weekend.
Petunia and Loomis is celebrating its grand reopening from August 1 through August 3.
The store was hit with flooding in December of 2024 and February of 2025.
“Two floods in two months nearly swept us away,” said store manager Jesse McCauley. “But like any good gothic ghost story, we came back stronger — and spookier — than ever.”
The renovated store has brand-new floors and an upgraded layout to really hit home with the eerie experience customers know and love.
Petunia and Loomis is also bringing a calendar of events designed to welcome the community back through its doors. These include bug pinning classes, tarot classes, tattoo pop-ups, kids classes and more.
There will also be a giveaway this weekend. Prizes include a wet specimen baby beaver, gift cards and more. Every purchase gets an entry to win.
“We wanted to turn a soggy nightmare into something magical,” said owner Samantha McCauley. “Now every inch of the shop has a story — and a secret or two.”
The store is located at 224 North Howard Street in Spokane. It is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
