CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — First responders rescued multiple people in separate incidents over the weekend, according to Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
On July 25, CCSO responded to a report of a sick 15-year-old on a trail near Colchuck Lake.
CCSO said she was unable to get out of the trail on her own and Chelan County Volunteer Search and Rescue units and paramedics met her on the trail and helped her to safety.
On July 27, CCSO received a notification of a 74-year-old hiker near Aasgard Pass who was unresponsive and in medical distress.
An emergency helicopter airlifted the hiker out of the pass and transported him to a nearby hospital.
CCSO said it also handled seven additional search and rescue calls over the weekend, but did not give details.
“We would like to remind people enjoying our amazing back country to properly prepare for your hike, know your limits and check the weather in the area you will be in,” wrote CCSO in a press release.
