STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — People around southeast Stevens County and north Spokane County may see more smoke coming from a wildfire near Tum Tum.
According to incident command, the Lake Spokane Fire has burned nearly 4 square miles and is 90% contained. Full containment is expected this weekend. Firefighters say they will provide the final update on this wildfire Wednesday.
Tuesday firefighters will continue to mop up and work on establishing lines on the northern area of the fire where there is no containment.
Firefighters say forecasted dry, hot weather will send more smoke into the sky and ask people to not call 911.
Level 1 and 2 evacuation orders remain in place for the area.
