STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Fire crews are making progress on the over 7,800-acre wildfire burning near Kettle Falls on Sunday afternoon, according to Department of Natural Resources.
As of Sunday afternoon, crews have contained 75% of the Hope Fire burning on roughly 7,880-acres, or just over 12 square miles of land.
DNR said crews are working on cleaning up firelines on the north and northwest side of the fire after a successful burn out on Saturday.
Sundays work is expected to take some extra time as the area has steep and rugged terrain.
Level 2 (GET SET) and Level 1 (BE READY) evacuations are still in place. You can see the live evacuation map by clicking here.
Fire crews are asking people to watch for fire vehicles and crew along Lael Road and E. Fork Crown Road.
