STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Fire crews continue to get control of the over 2,000-acre wildfire burning near Tumtum on Sunday afternoon.
According to Department of Natural Resources, the Lake Spokane Fire is holding at about 2,500 acres, or 3.9 square miles.
DNR said, as of Sunday morning, containment for the fire has grown to 52%, up from 38% on Saturday.
Fire crews are working on mop up and removing brush fuels from around the perimeter.
On Saturday, Stevens County Emergency Management lowered all Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations to Level 2 (GET SET), and all Level 2 evacuations were downgraded to Level 1 (BE READY).

DNR said people in the area should remember it is still an active fire zone and there are many hazards near the roads, such as ash pits, weakened trees and smoke.
People driving in the area should stay alert and be careful.
