SPOKANE, Wash. — Mark your calendars for an opportunity to get outside, be active, and raise awareness for a good cause!
On September 27, the American Heart Association will host the Washington Heart and Stroke Walk, starting and ending at the Spokane Convention Center’s Riverside lawn.
The family-friendly event will include a pre-walk health and wellness festival, a short stage program and an untimed walk.
“Since heart disease and stroke are our leading killer, many of us know someone who has been touched. It is these personal reasons that drive our volunteers, supporters and sponsors to support the American Heart Association’s movement to change the future of health and be the progress that ensures longer, healthier lives for all,” said Whitney Meidl, AHA Executive Director.
Donations raised through the event will benefit American Heart Association and help fun scientific research and programs that drive public policy, set guidelines for medical care and educate the community.
