ATHOL, Idaho – An 18-year-old was killed in a crash that shut down US 95 in Kootenai County early Saturday morning.
The crash happened at about 1:45 am between Hayden and Athol.
Idaho State Police say an SUV driven by the young man from Athol went off the road, overcorrected and flipped back onto the highway.
The driver was the only person in the car and died at the scene.
Troopers blocked the full highway for about an hour. One of the northbound lanes where the crash happened stayed block for another two hours after that.
The road is fully open Saturday morning.
Idaho State Police say the incident is under investigation.
