SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — It’s National Pet Fire Safety Day and Spokane County Fire District 10 has some tips on how you can keep your pets safe during an emergency.
In order to protect your furry family members during a house fire, keep your pets near entrances when you’re not home so firefighters can find them, place pet alert window clings with the number and type of pets inside, secure open flames and never leave pets unattended around stoves or space heaters.
“Our furry family members count on us for protection, including from the unexpected dangers of a house fire,” Fire District 10 said.
