SPOKANE, Wash. — Two people were arrested for stealing copper wire and vandalizing Washington State Department of Transportation electrical boxes over the last month.
According to WSP, between June 6 and July 8, multiple WSDOT electrical boxes were vandalized and copper wire was stolen along the state highway and I-90 throughout Spokane County.
WSP said the damage was estimated to cost $168,000 and caused people in Washington to lose power.
On July 8, WSP troopers used surveillance video to track down the suspects.
Both were arrested and booked into the Spokane County Detention Facility.
