SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Deputies arrested a man for driving under the influence and trying to evade a traffic stop in north Spokane on Thursday, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 12:30 p.m. on July 10, SCSO deputies driving north on Division Street saw a black car, driven by 27-year-old Davidson Baker, stopped at a red light.
When the light turned green, Baker failed to drive, and the deputies honked their horn to catch his attention.
Baker started driving and the deputies began to pull him over, but he continued driving.
SCSO said Baker began to make ‘erratic’ lane changes and swerved across all three lanes at about 30-40 mph.
Eventually, a second SCSO patrol car came to the scene and Baker was stopped between the two patrol cars on Hastings Road.
Deputies arrested Baker, who they said appeared dazed and smelled like alcohol.
He was taken to the hospital and subjected to a blood test.
Baker was booked into Spokane County Jail for DUI and eluding law enforcement.
