SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police arrested the mother of the man accused of shooting and killing 13-year-old Gavin Looper for helping her son escape the state.
49-year-old Becky A. Gibbs was arrested Thursday for Rendering Criminal Assistance.
Gibbs is the mother of Glen Dylan Burkey, who police say shot through the door of a house in Hillyard on January 25. One of those shots hit Looper in the head while he was playing video games.
Looper died shortly after from his injuries.
SPD says Burkey helped her son leave the state after the shooting.
Burkey was arrested a few days after the shooting in Missoula, Montana.
