KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — An Athol woman was sentenced to prison for a road rage incident that put a juvenile in the hospital last year.
On August 3, 2024, 33-year-old Raven Alexis Crum was driving along Highway 95 just north of Highway 53.
The Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office says Crum was driving behind another vehicle that had three juveniles inside.
Crum changed lanes, passed the juveniles and swerved back into the original lane, this time in front of the juveniles.
The Prosecutor’s Office said that after Crum slowed down in front of their vehicle, the juveniles changed lanes and passed Crum. One of the juveniles flipped off Crum while they were passing.
Crum then changed lanes again, but instead of passing the juveniles a second time, Crum sideswiped the vehicle.
The vehicle with the juveniles rolled several times and one person was ejected from the vehicle.
The juvenile who was ejected suffered life-threatening injuries and spent more than a week in a coma.
Crum later admitted the crash was a result of road rage.
On Tuesday, Senior District Judge Lansing Haynes sentenced Crum to a 7-year prison sentence, suspended for 2 years of probation with 120 days in jail and a 1-year driver’s license suspension.
