SPOKANE, Wash. — Join a vibrant celebration of culture, unity and friendship in Riverfront Park this Saturday.
The Taste of Asia Festival, Philippine American Friendship Celebration and a sister city bench dedication are all happening on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All three events are hosted by the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Coalition to bring together food, dance, culture and diplomacy.
There will be food trucks, beer, drinks, vendors and community partners all day. CHAS will also have its Mobile Health clinic on site.
The Taste of Asia festival will feature live cooking demonstrations, cultural storytelling and Asian culinary cuisine.
The Friendship Celebration will feature traditional Filipino performances, art displays and more.
Finally, the event will feature the unveiling of the Spokane-Jilin Sister City Friendship Bench, which represents the relationship between Spokane and its sister city Jilin, China.
All three events are family-friendly and free to the public.
“This day celebrates not only our diverse cultural roots but also the unity and friendship we build through shared spaces, stories, and symbols,” says Jacqueline Babol, community leader and President of the Asian Coalition. “We invite everyone in Spokane and beyond to witness, learn, and enjoy the beauty of Asian culture and our international connections.”
