SOUTH CHENEY, Wash. — UPDATE: June 17 at 5:45 p.m. – Forward progression has stopped for the fire burning near South Cheney Plaza Road and West Tareski Lane on Tuesday evening, according to Spokane County Fire District 3.
SCFD3 said the fire is burning on around two acres of land, a little less than the size of two football fields.

Firefighters are responding to a brush fire near the intersection of South Cheney Plaza Road and West Tareski Lane.
According to Spokane County Fire District 3, the call initially came in as a house fire but had spread to nearby brush. The fire is estimated at about two acres—roughly the size of two football fields, not including the end zones.
SCFD3 said outbuildings are threatened.
