SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The brush fire, which had multiple ignition points near the intersection of Cheney Spokane Road and South Marshall Road, is now 100% contained, said Spokane Fire District #3.
The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is the lead agency investigating the cause of the fire.
Update at 1:37 p.m.
According to Spokane County Fire District #3 (SCFD3), the forward progression of the fire has been stopped.
SCFD3 reports that the fires are considered suspicious due to multiple points of origin. They are burning in a previously affected area that experienced a wildfire approximately three years ago.
Crews have begun to mop-up the fire.

Firefighters are responding to a brush fire with multiple starts near the intersection of Cheney Spokane Road and South Marshall Road.
Spokane County Fire District #3 said all fires appear to be isolated between Marshall Road and Fish Lake trails near Spokane Cheney Memorial Gardens.
The Spokane Fire Department says the fires are suspicious, but the cause is under investigation.
The size of the incident is estimated as 2 acres.
The public should avoid this area of the Fish Lake Trail.
According to Spokane County Fire District #3, the Spokane Fire Department and Department of Natural Resources are responding.
