SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Falls Boulevard is back open after multiple No Kings protesters were detained in the area.
Spokane Police and SWAT also left the area as the group of remaining protesters started to disperse.

People inside River Park Square and the AMC theater in downtown Spokane were evacuated after No Kings protesters were detained in the area.
On Sunday June 15, SPD said they did not order the evacuations. It is unclear who initiated the evacuations at River Park Square and the AMC.
SPD said protesters were asked to disperse, though many are still gathering in Riverfront Park. So far, multiple protesters have been detained.
Spokane Falls Boulevard was briefly opened to allow people at River Park Square to leave the area.
SWAT is also responding to the area.

Multiple protesters have been detained in downtown Spokane.
The protesters were part of the No Kings protest that began Saturday afternoon. The protest began in Riverfront Park before moving through the streets of downtown.
Spokane Police were telling people near Spokane Falls Boulevard to disperse.
Spokane Falls Boulevard has been blocked off to the public.
Protesters were detained in the area around 9 p.m. Saturday evening.
Two SWAT cars are also in the area.

No Kings movement protesters marched through downtown Spokane Saturday afternoon.
The protesters marched from Riverfront Park to Spokane Falls Boulevard and onto Howard Street. One protester said it was a spur of the moment decision.
Law enforcement has blocked off several streets as protesters marched through downtown.
The protest began in Riverfront Park around 4 p.m. It was one of multiple No Kings protests planned in the Inland Northwest.

Protesters gathered in Spokane’s Riverfront Park Saturday afternoon as part of the nationwide No King’s movement and a local Stonewall Rally.
The organizers of the No Kings protest say this is in response to the growing authoritarianism of the Trump administration.
It is one of multiple No Kings protests in the Inland Northwest on Saturday.
In Coeur d’Alene, hundreds of protesters and counter-protesters gathered near Appleway Avenue and Highway 95 beginning at noon.
More than 1,800 peaceful protests across all 50 states are planned for Saturday through the No Kings Movement. Organizers of the movement say they seek to reject authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of our democracy.
Saturday is also the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. A military parade is planned to roll through Washington, D.C., to honor the U.S. Army’s anniversary.
The Stonewall rally happened from 3 to 4 p.m. in Riverfront Park. Spokane’s No Kings protest started at 4 p.m.
Protest organizers worked with Spokane Pride to collaborate and celebrate each other’s events.
Spokane Police officers are present at the protest as a precautionary measure to make sure things do not escalate.
