COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Protesters and counter-protesters are gathering near Appleway Avenue and Highway 95 in Coeur d’Alene as part of a nationwide No Kings movement.
More than 1,800 peaceful protests across all 50 states are planned for Saturday through the No Kings Movement. Organizers of the movement say they seek to reject “authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of our democracy.”
Saturday is also the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. A military parade plans to roll through Washington, D.C. to honor the U.S. Army’s anniversary.
In Coeur d’Alene, the protest kicked off officially at noon with both protesters and counter-protesters present.
This is a developing story.
