SPOKANE, Wash. — With potentially record-breaking heat expected this week, here are some tips to stay safe and cool during hot weather.
The National Weather Service says it’s important to drink plenty of water, even if you’re not thirsty and avoid direct sunlight during the peak hours of heat.
If you are indoors, it is recommended to move to an air-conditioned area. If you’re home is not air conditioned, you could also head to a public library or other indoor area.
Also make sure to dress in lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing to reflect the heat and reduce strenuous activities until the coolest time of the day.
