PEND OREILLE COUNTY, Wash. — Two people have been arrested for holding a woman against her will and hiding a dead body on their property.
According to the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went out to a welfare check on Fertile Valley Road around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday after Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of a woman being held against her will.
Deputies went out to the property and were greeted by a man at the end of the driveway. The man led deputies onto the property.
The Sheriff’s Office found a woman chained on the property, preventing her from leaving. Near the woman, deputies also found the dead body of another person.
Two men and one woman who were living on the property were detained. After searching the property, the body of a man was also confirmed to be buried on the property.
John L. Rosen, 48 from Newport, was arrested for first-degree murder, second-degree murder, kidnapping, rape and unlawful imprisonment.
28-year-old Shawna L. McGlothen from Deer Park was also arrested for giving false or misleading statements to a public servant.
The other man who was living on the property was interviewed and released.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner is investigating the male victim’s death.
This is an ongoing investigation.
