Chappell Roan took a break from her signature drag-inspired glam to drop a few makeup-free bikini selfies on Instagram — and captioned them: “I am actually normal.”
Okay but… what part of this is normal??? Because if I posted selfies with that glowing skin, perfectly tousled mermaid hair, and a booty that could cause traffic accidents, I wouldn’t be calling myself normal — I’d be writing “You’re welcome, Earth.”
Don’t get me wrong — I love her music. Her whole glittery pop-star-meets-theater-kid energy is so fun and refreshing. But sometimes the stuff she says makes me tilt my head like a confused golden retriever. Like when she claimed all her friends with kids are miserable? Not cool. (We’re tired, not tormented, okay??)
And now this post feels like another entry in her “I’m not like the others” journal. Like, are we supposed to applaud you for going makeup-free when you still look like a damn goddess on a Grecian vacation?
This “I’m just a regular girl!” moment is kind of giving pick-me vibes — because Chappell Roan is many things, but normal is not one of them. She’s hot. She’s talented. She has the kind of body that doesn’t happen by accident. And while I support a good “off-duty pop star” moment, let’s not pretend she just rolled out of bed and looks like that by coincidence.
Still love the music. Still singing “HOT TO GO!” at full volume. But I’ll be rolling my eyes while I do it this week.
