FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. — A man from Spokane died in a car crash near Connell, Washington on Saturday, according to Washington State Patrol.
Around 6:30 p.m. on May 31, three cars and three semi-trucks were driving northbound on Highway 395, about four miles north of Connell.
Drivers and passengers in the cars and trucks ranged in age from 6-years-old to 83-years-old.
At one point, one of the semi-trucks crashed into another semi-truck, leading to multiple crashes between the trucks and the cars.
29-year-old Andrew E. Thomas from Spokane was driving a Ford van during the crash. WSP said Thomas hit one of the semi-trucks and was then hit by a GMC Yukon.
He was declared dead at the scene.
It is unknown if Thomas was wearing a seatbelt.
WSP said the cause of the crash was speeding.
