SANDERS COUNTY, Mont. — Fire crews fought a large fire burning north of Plains, Montana overnight on Sunday, according to Plains-Paradise Rural Fire District.
Around 3 a.m. on June 1, PPRFD responded a to a wildfire burning about 10 miles north of Plains.
PPRFD said the fire was burning on at least 200 acres of land and was visible from Highway 28 and Highway 200.
Fire crews patrolled throughout the night to work to contain the flames.
PPRFD said the fire had become more moderate as they responded, “but there is still consistent wind.”
The district said it expects to see more activity throughout Sunday.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
