SPOKANE, Wash. — Two people were arrested Saturday morning in connection with a drive-by shooting investigation from Friday.
According to Spokane Police, calls came in around 5:30 a.m. Saturday of a reported shooting in the area of Liberty Avenue and Market Street. Officers were able to tie this call back to a similar incident from the day before.
SPD said on Friday, 32-year-old Zachary Gring ran from police for reports of shooting. Gring also shot at the house and car of a person who he was in a relationship with Saturday morning.
At around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, officers spotted Gring’s vehicle and tried to pull it over. Both Gring and a female in the car, later identified as 26-year-old Allie Alderson, took off running away from the car.
Alderson was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for a Department of Corrections warrant, a warrant for not having a valid driver’s license and two counts of drive-by shooting.
Shortly after Alderson’s arrest, another person called saying they saw Gring hiding nearby. Near where Gring was hiding, police also found two guns, one of which had previously been reported stolen.
Gring was arrested without incident and booked into Spokane County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stole firearm and two counts of drive-by shooting. Gring was also booked for attempting to elude a police officer in connection with Friday’s incident.
