SPOKANE, Wash. — An 18-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a rival gang member at a Spokane gas station appeared in court this week with bail set at $1 million.
Quentin Hutchinson faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection with the April 25 shooting death of Timothy Allen Jr., 24, at a Maverik station on Division and Montgomery.

According to court documents, Allen Jr. and three companions were at the gas station around 3 a.m. when Hutchinson arrived with his group. Allen Jr.’s group confronted Hutchinson’s group, brandishing firearms and asking gang-related questions about their affiliations.
Detectives determined that Hutchinson claimed affiliation with the criminal street gang Indian Pride Organization, while Allen Jr. and his group had ties to a rival gang called Native Gangster Blood.
According to detectives, both Allen Jr. and Hutchinson drew firearms on each other, leading to multiple shots being fired. Allen Jr. was struck in the head and foot and died at the scene. Another man with Allen Jr. was shot multiple times and hospitalized.
Court documents reveal that Hutchinson allegedly used a modified handgun equipped with a “switch,” which allows the weapon to fire automatically.
Such modifications are illegal under federal law.
Hutchinson’s arraignment is set for June 10th at 9 a.m.
