LINCOLN COUNTY, Mont. — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in Montana confirmed to KXLY Wednesday that a three-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the face Tuesday morning.
It happened in a house on Granite Creek Rd., south of Libby.
The toddler was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Deputies said they obtained a search warrant to comb through the house where the shooting happened, to look for evidence.
The boy’s father, 24-year-old Timothy Moore, was arrested for negligent homicide, and was being held at the Lincoln Co. Detention Center on $500,000 bond.
Detectives said the child’s remains were being taken to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy.
