SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Three people part of a drug trafficking operation run by a Spokane County convicted murderer have been sentenced to federal prison.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington, 33-year-old Alexandro Aguilar, 27-year-old Kassandra M. Montelongo and 25-year-old Luis Lara were all sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking charges.
Court documents show that in August of 2022, Aguilar was communicating with Montelongo from the Spokane County Jail. Montelongo was acting as Aguilar’s agent for drug trafficking on the outside.
Aguilar was previously convicted of murdering his friend in 2021 during an argument at a bar in Spokane Valley.
While looking into the drug trafficking operation, investigators also learned that Lara and another man, Jose Garcia, were also involved.
Between December 2022 and January 2023, undercover agents conducted several drug purchases in Spokane Valley from Aguilar’s organization. In total, detectives received 7,700 fentanyl pills and more than 7 pounds of methamphetamine. Federal agents had already bought cocaine through the organization as part of an investigation.
On June 7, 2023, federal agents searched Montelongo’s home in Sunnyside. During the search, agents found around 11 pounds of meth, a small scale and Ziplock bags. There were also multiple guns, high-capacity magazines, bulk ammunition and cash.
Garcia was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing meth on January 24, 2025.
Aguilar was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the drug trafficking charges. Montelongo and Lara were both sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for drug trafficking.
