COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Coeur d’Alene Fire Department’s proposed multi-million dollar bond appears to be passing on Tuesday night.
As of 8:30 p.m. on May 20, the CDA Fire Department’s proposed $16 million bond is passing with 74.4% of voters in favor of the measure.
A two-thirds majority of votes, or 66.67%, is needed for the bond to pass.
If passed, the bond would allocate $16,400,000 to the fire department over a 10-year period.
The tax increase would cost the owner of a $425,000 home approximately $70 per year.
CDAFD said the bond would mainly go toward helping to manage a significant increase in service calls.
Votes will continue to be counted over the next few days and will be officially certified on May 30.
