SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley firefighters prevented a home from being destroyed after a fire broke out in an attached garage Monday.
Just after 10:30 a.m. on May 19, the Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) responded to a structure fire on the North Sullivan Road and East Broadway Avenue. Firefighters arrived within minutes and immediately attacked the flames.
The crew’s aggressive approach and coordinated vertical ventilation tactics contained the fire to the garage and dining room areas, saving the majority of the home.
Damage is estimated to exceed $75,000. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to three residents displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
