What if Rachel Berry existed in 2025? According to Lea Michele, she’d be belting out Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” — and the internet is buzzing about it.
As part of her Straight from Carnegie Hall tour, Lea’s been mixing her own solo music with Broadway bangers, Glee classics, and a fun little segment imagining what songs Rachel Berry would be singing if she were still strutting through the halls of McKinley High. Spoiler alert: Rachel’s still got the drama.
During her Orlando stop, Lea served up covers of some major pop girl hits — think Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends,” Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?,” and of course, a little Olivia Rodrigo with “Vampire” and “Drivers License.”
But it was her take on “Pink Pony Club” that really got Gleeks spiraling. Lea did what Lea does — big notes, vocal slides, all the drama — but fans quickly started sounding off online, saying the song felt a little more… Kurt Hummel-coded.
“That would 100% be a Kurt song!!!” one fan declared. Another chimed in with, “Sorry, this is for Kurt.”
And honestly? They might have a point. Others imagined a full Rachel vs. Kurt moment, complete with a dramatic sing-off à la their Wicked “Defying Gravity” showdown.
“Rachel and Kurt would’ve ate this UP on Glee,” one comment read. Another suggested, “We need a Kurt and Rachel duet ASAP.”
Now we’re just wondering: Ryan Murphy, are you seeing this?
