Rite Aid stores in Omak and Ephrata, Washington will close soon as part of the company’s second bankruptcy filing.
The two stores were among 68 announced Monday as the company works to sell off assets.
The immediate closings of these stories will likely result in going-out-of-business sales beginning immediately.
The Omak and Ephrata stores are among seven in Washington.
The Associated Press reports Rite Aid will close or sell all of its stores in the coming months.
The company is no longer buying inventory, so shelves will become sparse as closures loom.
Rite Aid runs 1,245 stores in 15 states.
The company has called the second bankruptcy filing in two years “the only viable path forward.”
In a letter to customers, Rite Aid said it’s working to facilitate a smooth transition to other pharmacies.
