WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. — Deputies arrested a man who pointed a gun at a car driving by in Garfield on Sunday evening, according to Whitman County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 6 p.m. on May 11, deputies responded to a call about a man standing near West Main Street and 4th Street, pointing a gun at a passing car.
Deputies soon found the man nearby in Grumpy’s Tavern.
They learned customers had taken the gun from the man before deputies arrived.
The 51-year-old man told deputies people were in his house and that his dog had been shot.
WCSO investigated and found nothing suspicious at the man’s home.
Deputies arrested the man for second-degree attempted assault and prohibited weapons. He was booked into the Whitman County Jail.
