SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Deputies arrested a man who was acting suspiciously and then ran from deputies and resisted arrest on Saturday, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 2 p.m. on May 10, Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a call about a man with a knife in a dispute with a man with a bat near Bowdish Road and Jackson Avenue.
When deputies arrived, they found the man reported to have a bat and learned he was sitting in his car when he was approached by 23-year-old Question T. J. Anderson.
He said Anderson had a large knife, and although he did not threaten him, he still felt unsafe due to Anderson’s “odd” behavior.
Deputies soon found Anderson nearby, but he walked away. SCSO said deputies had no reasonable suspicion that a crime had been committed at that time so they did not follow Anderson.
Several adults and children in the area told deputies they were concerned about Anderson’s behavior.
Deputies soon saw Anderson jump a fence into a nearby private backyard, and then another fence.
SVPD tried to make contact with Anderson, but he ran. Deputies soon caught up to Anderson and began to arrest him. He resisted arrest and tried to kick and bite deputies.
He was booked into Spokane County Jail for third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. His bond is set at $50,000.
