SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Deputies arrested a man who spray painted a school and punched a deputy in the head on Monday, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 2 p.m. on April 14, SVPD received a report of a person tagging a school near Buckeye Avenue and Vista Road.
Deputies responded and found the suspect near Buckeye Avenue and North Ella Road. SVPD told the man to stop, but he bolted, jumped over a fence and ran through nearby yards.
SVPD soon found him near Park Road and Marietta Avenue. The man tried to jump over another fence, but was tackled by a deputy who he punched in the head when they fell to the ground.
Deputies arrested 22-year-old Kevin Ariza for assault, mischief and obstructing law enforcement.
SVPD said Arzia caused roughly $5,500-worth of damage in total by tagging the school and a local business and damaging a fence he jumped over.
