SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has identified the woman killed in a house fire last week on Spokane’s South Hill but has not determined a cause of death yet.
According to the Medical Examiner, 65-year-old Lynn Zahniser and her two dogs died in the fire on 27th Avenue near Wall Street just before 1 a.m. April 9.
Firefighters arrived and saw flames on the first floor of the house that threatened nearby homes. It took about an hour for crews to knock the fire down.
SFD says a hoarding situation at the home made the fire more difficult to fight.
Zahniser’s cause of death has not yet been released. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
