SPOKANE, Wash. — A trail in Riverside State Park is in for an upgrade this spring.
Construction will begin on the Knothead Loop Trail in Riverside State Park on April 7.
The grant-funded project will include construction of a new trailhead, 38 additional parking spaces, 2 ADA accessible parking spaces, a new vault toilet, a new kiosk and improved trail access to the Knothead Loop Trail and Little Spokane River Trail.
Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission said as the trail has grown in popularity, more and more visitors have had to park on the side of the road.
A main goal of the project is to increase safety by providing additional parking spots and easier trail access.
Construction is expected to be completed in July 2025.
