Joe Gatto, best known for his role on Impractical Jokers, is entering an in-patient facility after facing allegations of sexual assault and harassment, PEOPLE confirms. A source told the outlet that Gatto has also canceled his upcoming tour dates.
The allegations first surfaced on March 20, when a TikTok user, who goes by joozyb, accused Gatto of sexually assaulting her when she was 19 in a series of now-deleted videos—claims that Gatto has denied. Shortly after, a second woman, who previously worked with Gatto during his time on Impractical Jokers, came forward, alleging that he engaged in inappropriate and unwanted behavior that she described as sexual harassment.
While Gatto has denied the allegations, he did acknowledge in a statement, “I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most.”
As someone who loved Impractical Jokers, this is really disappointing. The show was a go-to comfort watch for me during those exhausting postpartum days with my firstborn, and it’s tough when something that brought joy becomes clouded by the actions of the people behind it.
